Andrea Monti
Andrea has lived with tango since she was born in the city of Buenos Aires. First, she got it from her parents, faithful tango fans who introduced her to that magical dancing world; and later she got deeply involved with it in tango schools, at the prácticas and at the milongas.
Her solid training as a professional tango dancer is based on almost two decades in jazz dance, classical technique and stretching, as well as the highest contribution of the best tango teachers and colleagues from Buenos Aires, such as Mingo Pugliese, Esther Pugliese, Gustavo Naveira, Graciela González, Roberto Herrera and Alejandra Arrué, to mention only some of them.

As a dancer, Andrea is outstanding in technique and her way of walking the tango beat. As a teacher, she is outstanding by her dedication and her personalized methodology, achieving in this way an optimal level of communication with her students.
Since 1999 she has been teaching specific ladies´ technique seminars , using a proper method that she has developed through years of experience, conjugating her studies in tango, in technique and in the modern-contemporary jazz dance.
The objective is that the student reaches the best possible technique and dance level according to his learning capabilities through a series of exercises carefully designed and framed within a system created by her- so that the learning process happens in a natural, gradual way, and as a consequence, becomes effective.
She has been dancing professionally since 1996. She met tango dancer Hugo Gato Valdez in 1998 with whom she formed a professional dance couple. Together they have been teaching classes and seminars very successfully in Argentina and abroad since then. Some of the most visited countries are: the USA, England, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Holland, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Uruguay, South of Brazil and Costa Rica.
She created, choreographed and was a member of the tango-dance group Sin Ellos together with dancer Andrea Ponzettti, with performances happening in Barcelona: August and September 2002-2003.

A. Professional Studies
Tango, Milonga and Vals
Andrea started studying tango in 1994 first at different milonga schools, prácticas and cultural centres as for instance "La Galeria del Tango", "Centro Cultural Rojas" and "Cochabamba". Then, she continued her studies a professional dancer and perfected her technique with distinguished masters and dancers, among them Susana Rojo, Graciela González, Esther and Mingo Pugliese, and Alejandra Arrué.
Andrea not only has an academic and professional education in modern dance and tango, but also a solid education in pedagogy that she got when she studied at a teacher college (teacher training course in English) and at university (design and urbanism). She finished those studies in 1991 and 1994 respectively. They include very relevant subjects as they have to do with the quality of teaching and with the relation teacher-student and vice versa: Theory of the Learning Process., Theory of the Education Process, Evolutionary Psychology, Methodology and The Practice of Teaching , School Organization and Management , Ethics and Professional Deontology (the theory of duty and moral obligation), Psychology, Philosophy and Sociology. Due to both kinds of education and to her experience in teaching and directing groups of all ages, her classes and seminars have been recently required in many parts of the world.
B. Modern-Jazz / Jazz Dance

Andrea started her modern-jazz studies in 1984 and has continued without interruption during the following 18 years at different dance schools and institutions in Buenos Aires. She has been influenced by one of the best jazz dance masters and choreographers, MANUEL VALLEJOS, who was her teacher for five years. She participated in a great number of dance events and
presentations in many distinguished theatres and auditoriums "porteños", some of them are: "Astros" theatre, "Alvear" theatre, "Coliseo theatre, "El Globo" theatre, "Begrano" Auditorium and "La Plaza Complex", where she danced under the direction of master Manuel Vallejos in "Pablo Neruda" Auditorium.
Andrea taught jazz-dance and directed groups of children and adolescents in different institutions and schools for five years. One of her groups got the first prize in the National Competition "All the Dance", category Jazz-Dance adolescents, which took place in the famous "Astral" theatre in December, 1996.
She continues taking classes to keep trained up to date.
